A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge scheduled the auction of the Doral Golf Resort & Spa?
for Feb. 27 and approved a company controlled by Donald Trump as the stalking-horse bidder.Trump Endeavor 12 LLC, which is controlled by the New York real estate mogul and "The Apprentice" star, agreed to pay $150 million to debtor MSR Resorts for the 693-room hotel and its golf course. If another party wins the auction, the debtor would have to pay Trump?s company a $4.5 million ?topping fee? and reimburse it for its expenses.
Parties that wish to bid against Trump for the Doral Golf Resort & Spa must submit preliminary bids on Jan. 6, followed by qualified bids on Feb. 20. However, competing bidders must bid at least $2 million more than the sum of Trump?s $150 million offer, the $4.5 million topping fee and Trump?s expenses. Bidders must also put down $13.5 million as a deposit and for expenses.
