Getty ImagesFour AFC teams have already clinched playoff berths, and the remaining two spots could be clinched on Sunday. In the NFC the playoff picture is more jumbled, but three different teams have a chance to clinch with a win and some help.
The NFL has confirmed that the Colts and Bengals are both in the AFC playoffs if they win on Sunday, while the Seahawks are in the NFC playoffs if they win. The Redskins and Giants both have their own playoff scenarios on Sunday, although both teams will need help to clinch this week.
Other teams that have already clinched playoff berths can clinch their divisions, first-round byes or home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs. Here are the scenarios for every team:
Houston Texans: Clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs if they beat Minnesota, or if the Broncos and Patriots both lose.
Denver Broncos: Clinch a first-round playoff bye if they beat the Browns and the Patriots lose to the Dolphins.
Baltimore Ravens: Clinch the AFC North if they beat the Giants
Indianapolis Colts: Clinch a wild card spot if they beat the Chiefs, or if the Steelers lose to the Bengals. (It?s also possible that the Colts could clinch even if they lose to the Chiefs and the Steelers beat the Bengals, but that would involve the strength of victory tiebreaker, and we don?t want to make this too complicated.)
Cincinnati Bengals: Clinch a playoff spot if they beat the Steelers.
Atlanta Falcons: Clinch home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs if they beat the Lions, or if the Packers and 49ers both lose.
San Francisco 49ers: Clinch the NFC West if they beat the Seahawks. Can also clinch a first-round playoff by if they win and the Packers lose.
Washington Redskins: Clinch a playoff spot if they beat the Eagles and the Giants, Bears and Vikings all lose.
Seattle Seahawks: Clinch a playoff spot if they beat the 49ers. Can also clinch a playoff spot if they lose to the 49ers but would need the Bears, Vikings and Redskins all to lose.
New York Giants: Clinch a playoff spot if they beat the Ravens and the Bears, Vikings, Cowboys and Redskins all lose.
