Best video game for family fun | bettor.com

Video games that you can enjoy with your family

While people believe that if the best way to spend quality time with the family is by turning off the television and just sitting together to talk, or going out with them on a picnic, television can actually play a huge role in helping family members to bond with each other.

Videos games in particular have begun to play a massive role in bridging the gap between family members. While the different members of the family are busy doing their own thing, one thing that they all find hard to resist is competition and sooner or later, they give in to the urge of proving themselves better than others.

Irrespective of the gender and age, a lot of families are seen sitting in front of the television with a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii controller in their hand, squealing in excitement and hitting each other playfully while doing far worse to each other on the screen.

There are a lot of video games that allow family to have fun together. The game that definitely tops the list is Tekken. The latest title in the franchise, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, has been released for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 by Namco Bandai.

The game falls under the fighting genre. Featuring a large character roster, players have a variety of options to choose from, which keeps the gameplay from getting old and redundant. Some of the characters are pretty easy to play with, thus making the game easy to learn for the newbies.

Brothers, sisters and even parents sit down together to play the game and give their all to defeat their opponent. Rather than learning the proper moves, they just have to press the buttons randomly to clinch victory.

Another game that has become extremely popular among family members is Mortal Kombat 9, released for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. After a long wait, Ed Boon and his team has finally managed to bring out a version of the game that is as satisfying, if not more, as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 that was released for Sega and Super Nintendo years ago.

Even though the game is filled with violence and sexuality, the experience on offer is so alluring that siblings and even parents pay little attention to the ratings and simply concentrate on making their opponent a bloody mess.

Ironically, fighting games are without any doubt the best when it comes to bringing a family closer to each other.
